Recycling Containers

In January 2005, the Cumberland County Improvement Authority purchased mixed paper containers for the residents of Cumberland County. The containers were purchased as part of the “Mix It With Your News” paper program. Initially, the Authority delivered the containers to the 14 municipalities throughout the County, who are now responsible for the distribution of the containers. The program continues to be a success thanks to the commitment of the municipalities, residents and businesses of Cumberland County.
The mixed paper containers do NOT replace, but are in addition to, the commingled container that residents use to recycle glass, aluminum, steel, and plastics #1 and #2.
