the Cumberland County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Municipal
Clean Communities Programs, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s

“
Volunteer groups will patrol a variety of waterway areas throughout
Cumberland County this year including parts of the Maurice
River, Foster’s Run in Upper Deerfield Township, Willow
Grove Lake, the Maurice River Bluffs Preserve, and Union Lake
Beach,” said Dennis DeMatte, Jr., Cumberland County Recycling
Coordinator. “It is very heartening to see the volunteer
spirit that we have in Cumberland County which is displayed
by groups and individuals in a number of different Improvement
Authority sponsored programs. It sets a great example for all
of us and reminds us that we can make a difference in our community
through volunteer efforts.”
“
As part of the Public Lands Clean-up program, the Improvement
Authority waives tipping fees at the Solid Waste Complex, provides
trash containers at strategic locations throughout the County,
and assists with the transportation of the waste which is collected,” DeMatte
said. “In addition, the Clean Communities Program provides
shirts, bags, and gloves for all of the volunteers who take
part.”
