RECYCLING DAY SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 16

MILLVILLE, NJ: On Saturday, September 16, the Cumberland County Improvement Authority, in association with the City of Millville, the Landis Sewerage Authority, and the Cumberland County Utilities Authority, will sponsor the third Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Clean-up Day of 2006. Residents may bring their household generated hazardous waste or their outdated electronics equipment to the City of Vineland Road Department on East Walnut Road from 8:00am to 2:00pm.

“ Our first two collection days of 2006, which were held in Millville and Bridgeton, were very well attended,” said Cumberland County Recycling Coordinator Dennis DeMatte, Jr. “I am pleased that County residents continue to respond to this program in record numbers. As a result, thousands of pounds of material is being diverted from our landfill for proper disposal or to be recycled where appropriate.”

County residents may dispose of the following items free of charge:

Residents are limited to 150 pounds or 20 gallons of material per trip. No tires or asbestos material will be accepted and no small quantity commercial generators of hazardous material will be allowed to dispose of their waste during these clean-up days.”

“ In addition, residents may dispose of their outdated electronic items at the Vineland event,” DeMatte said. Items which will be accepted include:

computers laptop computers

monitors televisions

VCR’s printers
