FIRST HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE AND ELECTRONICS RECYCLING DAY SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 21


MILLVILLE, NJ: On Saturday, April 21, the Cumberland County Improvement Authority, in association with the City of Millville, the Landis Sewerage Authority, and the Cumberland County Utilities Authority, will sponsor the first Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Clean-up Day of 2007. Cumberland County residents may bring their household generated hazardous waste or their outdated electronic equipment to the City of Millville Streets and Roads Complex on Ware Avenue in Millville from 8:00am to 2:00pm.

Cumberland County residents may dispose of their gasoline and kerosene, pesticides and herbicides, used motor oil and antifreeze, transmission fluid, car and lead acid batteries, household batteries, oil-based paints, turpentine and thinners, and other solvents free of charge. Residents are limited to 150 pounds or 20 gallons of material per trip. No small quantity commercial generators of hazardous material will be allowed to dispose of their waste during these clean-up days.

In addition, residents may dispose of their outdated electronic equipment at any one of the three scheduled collection events in 2007. Electronic equipment which will be accepted includes computers, monitors, VCRs, keyboards, servers, terminals, telephones, laptop computers, televisions, printers, stereos, computer wire, and mouse controllers. Residents are limited to six computer units per trip.

Anyone with questions regarding the Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Clean-up Days may contact the Cumberland County Improvement Authority at 825-3700. If you are unable to attend the April 21 clean-up day, store your materials in a safe manner until the next scheduled collection day on June 9, 2007 in Bridgeton, or on September 15, 2007 in Vineland.
