IMPROVEMENT AUTHORITY PARTNERS WITH WHEATONARTS TO PROMOTE GREEN LIVING

MILLVILLE, NJ: The Cumberland County Improvement Authority will partner with the WheatonArts and Cultural Center to promote home and garden green living ideas. The day-long Eco-Fair is scheduled for Saturday, May 12 from 10:00AM to 5:00PM at the WheatonArts and Cultural Center located at 1501 Glasstown Road in Millville.

“ We are pleased to partner with the WheatonArts and Cultural Center on this important environmental event,” said Dennis DeMatte, Jr., Cumberland County Recycling Coordinator. “The Eco-Fair will provide information, resources, products, and real solutions in order for people to live better, healthier lives with less environmental impact. You can enjoy hands-on, eco-friendly activities, or visit wildlife in their natural habitat.”

As part of the Eco-Fair schedule of events, the Improvement Authority will conduct their annual “Composting Made Easy” seminar at 11:00AM, and a second seminar entitled “Get Your Lawn Off Drugs” at 1:00PM. Both seminars will feature a very special guest, Mike McGrath from WHYY’s You Bet Your Garden. Composting course attendees will have the chance to purchase a backyard composter for $25.00. The composter has a retail value of $99.00. Quantities are limited. First come, first served.

“ Visitors will have the opportunity to meet a variety of professionals who provide environmental services and products. In addition, there will be native plant sales, live animals, door prizes, giveaways, fun-filled activities for the kids, nature tours, and live music by the Package Goods Orchestra,” DeMatte concluded.

For more information on the Eco-Fair, call the WheatonArts and Cultural Center at 856-825-6800, or the Cumberland County Improvement Authority at 856-825-3700.
