RECYCLING CAN BENEFIT ANY SIZE BUSINESS

Although we are sure you know that recycling is good for the environment, did you know that recycling is also good for business? Many company’s throughout Cumberland County have already found that recycling actually reduces the cost of doing business while offering alternatives to the disposal of unavoidable waste.

The most effective way to reduce waste is to generate less in the first place. You can adopt a wide range of waste prevention strategies including using or manufacturing minimal packaging; using and maintaining durable equipment and supplies; reusing products and supplies; using supplies and materials more efficiently; and eliminating unnecessary items.

The Improvement Authority can help you determine the best way to go about implementing a recycling program. We will conduct a waste assessment at your business, help you select a recycling company or hauler, organize the collection process, and communicate the importance of recycling to your employees. Because trash costs are usually based on the amount of trash generated, the more aggressively you recycle, the more you can save.

For more information about waste prevention and recycling programs, or to schedule a free waste assessment, contact the Cumberland County Improvement Authority at 825-3700.
