TAKE YOUR RECYCLABLES HOME

As we enter the summer months, many families begin making plans for their annual vacations. The beautiful weather provides the opportunity to enjoy family gatherings, picnics, and parties. Along with the festivities comes an abundance of waste. During this time, we encourage you to remain environmentally aware, and not to take a vacation from recycling.

Many locations such as parks and beaches do not provide recycling receptacles. This is an opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to the environment by taking these items home with you for recycling. In this way, you can provide a wonderful example for family and friends and continue to preserve natural resources and landfill space.

In addition, we would like to remind businesses in Cumberland County that the Authority is available to help you start, improve, or expand your recycling program. We can conduct a waste assessment to help you design strategies which will allow your employees to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Remember, recycling actually reduces the cost of doing business while offering an alternative to disposing of unavoidable waste.
